[00:00:09] Enjoy the show. second guard dog. I always wanted to be able to take my dog out with me, and in order to do that, I figured it would be better if he were friendly. Around October, when a chill was starting to form in the air, a friend of mine and I decided to get some pumpkin flavored coffee for us. We also met a couple who had a Rottweiler puppy, who was a few months younger than Sirius. We stopped for a moment and let them play, while my friend and I talked to the couple. Sirius had absolutely no issue with them and their puppy,
[00:03:02] and was very happy to receive attention from some new friends.
[00:03:06] Eventually, we're okay. Which was true. I had driven us there, and I was nowhere near sober enough to drive since we had been smoking. We were just relaxing and enjoying the nice weather before it got too cold.
[00:04:22] He then told us to have a nice day and turned back around again. since there was nothing behind us besides an empty road and thick heavy woods. My friend and I continued to sit there until we were sure that he was gone. That was weird, right? I asked my friend. She agreed and wondered. Where did he even go, anyway? I hadn't considered it at the time, but looking around, I could not figure out where he could
[00:05:41] have gone.
[00:05:43] Since we were high, we came up with the brilliant idea to wait and see if he would re-emerge
[00:05:47] to pass us again. way to defend ourselves and such a secluded area.
[00:07:03] My three kids recently as the man walked back towards the corner adjacent to the entrance. I got out of my car, still on the phone, telling my husband that the kids had the flu and I was picking up some medicine for them. In a very pleasant voice the man said, hey I've got a question for you.
[00:08:20] You know where Main Street is?
[00:08:23] Assuming that he was asking for directions I gently told the man that I didn't feel comfortable doing that. And I said that I had the flu, even though I didn't. I don't care about the flu, the man bellowed. He was getting angrier and not moving away from my route to the store. I didn't want to turn my back on him to go back to my car, since it was several feet
[00:09:45] away from me on the darkened street. He interrupted the pharmacist and a customer apologizing, then told them what happened. The pharmacist sent the store manager out. He was a tall guy with a long beard who looked like he didn't take crap from people. The police arrived as well, and the man who was still outside was told to leave, which he did momentarily.
[00:11:00] After the police left, he him out of the store before.
[00:12:20] She still sees him and she calls the police whenever she does since he threatens customers. There are two large cemeteries that everyone and their brother has gone into at night, at one point or another. We have one that's rather infamous. Poults tend to flock there, and townies go over there to hook up, drink, etc. Individuals who visit this cemetery are charged with felony trespassing if caught by police.
[00:13:42] There are a lot of rumors and then walk around the gates to enter the cemetery from the woods. That night before, I was at a party with my friend Kevin,, to leave immediately. He explained, it's the cult members, and they don't want the cops to be tipped off about them.
[00:16:20] Then, the cop gave them a ride to their car and let them go with a warning since they
[00:16:25] were so shaken up. the woods on our right side. This whistle was followed by a similar whistle from the left. As we continued to walk, we heard more whistling ahead of us, and then behind us. The whistling seemed to be some kind of signal. We stopped, and my friend John started to ask me about the whistles and how much further we had to
[00:17:42] go until we were at the cemetery. I calmly no idea what would have happened if those people came out of the woods Please consider your objectives, risk tolerance and acorns fees before investing. Acorns advertisers LLC Acorns is an SEC the day away. My dad ended up making a deal with the eccentric former hippie turned pastor and the gentleman who owned the pond was pickles. Fast forward to one summer day, my friend Dennis, his brother and I, headed out to the pond to go fishing. We ended up sitting around and swimming more than anything else. Dennis got mad because he was serious about going fishing, so he and his brother left,
[00:23:01] and the next thing that I knew, I was alone on the road.
[00:23:06] As I was walking, I I started pedaling down my road, screaming for help and yelling that I was in danger. He jerked his truck like he was going to follow me, but I was making too much noise and I already made it to my house.
[00:24:21] So he just took off.
[00:24:23] When I got home, my mom was there.
[00:24:26] I was hysterical. keep an eye on things as they developed. My dad on the other hand was more vigilant about it and always asked me if someone looked like that guy in that truck whenever in the apartment complex Outside noise could be heard from any room in my apartment, but it's particularly easy to hear them from my bedroom Last week I came home from the pub after meeting up with a few friends. It wasn't really late. It was only around 1030 p.m
[00:28:02] if he was knocking on my door. I told him if he was, it was not amusing.
[00:28:06] He hesitated before saying, dude, I'm at home.
[00:28:10] I have to be up at 7.30.
[00:28:13] I believed him.
[00:28:15] And as I hung up the phone, whoever was knocking
[00:28:18] must have heard me because I heard another knock.
[00:28:22] I was pretty irritated, so I walked to the door
[00:28:25] and looked through the peephole again,
[00:28:27] but I still saw nothing.
[00:29:24] wrestling as he backed against the wall waiting for me. I continued running a few steps down before realizing that whoever this was wanted to
[00:29:30] get the jump on me.
[00:29:32] I turned around, hurried back inside and called the cops.
[00:29:36] They were there within a few minutes and scanned the building and the immediate area, but they
[00:29:41] couldn't find anyone.
[00:29:43] They told me that it was possibly just some kids pulling a prank. Are you a fan of all things dark and strange? Heart Starts Pounding, horrors, hauntings, and mysteries is a weekly podcast hosted by friend of the show and former guest of the show, Kalen Moore. Kalen takes you on a dark journey to a new place, a new time, or a new crime each week.
[00:31:02] From centuries-old curses and Appalachian folklore, to Chilean Nazi cults, to terrifying This happened around 15 years ago. Nothing came of it, but it was so weird that I still think about it regularly. I was 16 years old at the time. It was early evening, so it was getting dark but not yet pitch black.
[00:32:24] I was walking home from the I asked him, what's my ex's name? He started laughing while maintaining his unwavering, creepy smile. He was in his 20s and likely intoxicated, so I started to feel a bit unnerved and was ready to end the conversation as soon as possible.
[00:33:43] He asked me to come hang out with him and I said,
[00:33:45] no, I need to get home.
[00:34:43] to walk into my home while he was right there. I stopped in my tracks and he walked towards me again
[00:34:47] and said, come hang out, let's go for a drive.
[00:34:51] This not only freaked me out further,
[00:34:53] but I was also getting annoyed by the fact
[00:34:55] that he wasn't leaving me alone.
[00:34:57] So I said, listen, I don't know you.
[00:35:00] I'm not going to go for a drive with some random guy.
[00:35:04] Then he laughed and pointed at his car and said,
[00:35:07] but I'm a respiratory therapist who works at a local hospital.
[00:36:23] I was on my way to work about less to put people at ease knowing that they're with a healthcare professional. When he got out of his vehicle I got out of mine and I walked over to the back end of his car. I assumed that he was going to tell me that he was in pain or tell me what
[00:37:40] caused him to pull over and stop so this, so I questioned further. Do you know what city you're in right now? If you're lost, I can tell you where the nearest highway is. His reply was chilling. He said, I need to be anywhere but here. I was so confused. He couldn't tell me where he thought that he was contemplating doing something or telling me something, but ultimately held himself back. He just seemed incredibly nervous, and his fast motions and gestures, they left me puzzled. It still gives me the creeps when I think about the way that he moved and spoke. I'm also freaked out about his lack of response and unwillingness to explain his actions.
[00:40:25] He just seemed incredibly paranoid and hesitant. My party finished at 9pm and my dad came to pick me up. But on the way there, he dropped my mom and sister off at the house because our security alarm was going off. Since nobody was home, my family called the security company over and they sent a van with three security guards. My mom unlocked the door to the house and let everyone in.
[00:41:42] They checked the inside of the whole house, but the second one jumped directly onto a guard and ran away. They were able to jump over the fence and run into the forest. My mom immediately regretted yelling out that she had spotted them. She knew that if she had come down and talked to the security guards quietly, the guys wouldn't have been startled and they probably wouldn't have been caught.
[00:43:02] My mom was crying and holding my sister close to her side, telling her everything would
[00:43:06] be okay. Two weeks later, my mom pulled out of the driveway, looked in the rearview mirror, and saw those two guys standing opposite our house, staring at her. The guy who hopped to the fence had the same hat, but it was new since he had lost it before. My mom drove to the police station, but they quickly disappeared and none of us ever saw
[00:44:22] them again. I'm sure many of you are horror? But you don't know how? Let the guys over at Lights Out podcast guide you through the seedy underbelly of true crime and the mysteries of the paranormal.
[00:45:41] Kill the lights.
[00:45:42] Join the dark and twisted journey. roughly three hours away from my hometown. I found an apartment where I was able to live without roommates. It was located in a safe part of town with reasonable rent. It was also close to some attractions in the city, which was a bonus. It was convenient to live close to a social hub.
[00:47:00] For the first four months or so, it was great.
[00:47:03] There were absolutely no problems or safety concerns of any sort. Besides a car or two passing by, it was dead quiet outside. Once I finished my cigarette, I decided to call it a night and headed to my apartment to get ready for bed. I was confused when I heard a short ring on the doorbell. I stood still in the center of my room for a few seconds as confusion and a little bit
[00:48:22] of fear set in. the peephole, fully assuming that he had left. I slowly lifted the cover of the peephole and peered through. My legs went numb as I saw a hooded figure looking straight into my peephole. He was clutching the zipper of his hoodie tightly to cover his face.
[00:49:40] All I could make out was the forehead and eyes.
[00:49:44] He must have either heard me lift the cover or my heavy breathing because he immediately by now but as far as I know, he hasn't been. I'm some inappropriate things. He was taking photos and videos of me whilst he was actively on duty. He kept this and a few other things hidden from me, and it led to him losing his license, and he ended up leaving the department.
[00:52:23] During the process of his termination, his I had reached out to his old department afterward as his sergeant told me to let him know if I was ever contacted again,
[00:53:42] but they turned me away pretty quickly and didn't want to have anything to do with it, and that was that.
[00:53:48] I blocked him once again, but he keeps trying to follow me on social media, and I've started seeing Graveyard Shift and Mid 90s Terror, both by Nostalgic Winters 98, Someone Kept Knocking at My Door, late, by Aurora9794, Who the Hell Was That? by Accomplished Duck 407, Creepiest Commute by Black Panther 14,
