[00:00:57] [SPEAKER_00] I Shouldn't Have Turned Back That Night by Tenua V. This happened when I was in 12th grade. I still don't have a proper explanation for it. At that time, it was normal for me and my friends to go on walks at night. My parents also used to go out with their friends so the area felt safe. One night, after walking with
[00:01:23] [SPEAKER_00] my friends, they offered to take me home. But I told them that I would go alone since my house was close by and my dad was somewhere nearby with his friends. When I entered my lane, there was a corner where the streetlight kept flickering at me. As I was passing that spot, a woman suddenly came in front of me and called out to me. Her voice sounded normal, so I didn't think anything of it.
[00:01:51] [SPEAKER_00] She asked me where the cremation ground was, so I gave her directions. She walked past me and went ahead. I turned back once, but I didn't notice anything properly. I just kept walking. After a few steps, I suddenly felt uneasy. It just didn't make any sense why someone would ask for the cremation ground. I was on the other side. I was on the other side. I was on the other side.
[00:02:18] [SPEAKER_00] I turned back to look again. That's when I noticed something was wrong. Her legs were faced the opposite direction, like they were turned backwards. I froze for a second and then looked again. But she wasn't there anymore. There was no way she could have disappeared that quickly. The lane was empty. I don't remember what happened after that. My dad later told me that he found me
[00:02:44] [SPEAKER_00] lying on the ground and brought me home. Apparently, I had fainted in the middle of the lane. For the next two days, I had a fever and couldn't speak properly. Even now, I still walk that way
[00:02:58] [SPEAKER_02] sometimes, but I avoid looking back at that corner. Dread and the Ghost at my Bed by Bird Nerd.
[00:03:21] [SPEAKER_02] I'm finally getting around to submitting my two stories. The first story goes back to the late 80s or early 90s. I was with my dad and we were riding bikes through a state park in New England. It was beautiful and we were enjoying ourselves. But at some point, I began to feel more and more of an
[00:03:43] [SPEAKER_02] awful sense of dread. It seemingly came out of nowhere. I said, Dad, can we turn around? I don't like this road anymore. So we did and I kind of forgot about it. Years later, I brought it up to my dad. A weird look came over his face and he proceeded to tell me what had taken place there.
[00:04:08] [SPEAKER_02] In the area where I had that horrible feeling, somebody had beheaded some women there in the 70s. Yikes. I'm absolutely certain I never heard about this before going there back then. Unfortunately, my dad has passed, so I can't ask him for details. But needless to say, I never went back there. And I never will. My second story is from about 15 years ago.
[00:04:37] [SPEAKER_02] I had my own apartment and two cats, who I miss dearly. Small things started to happen, which initially I blamed my cats for. Mostly, doors moved from where I left them. Things were out of place, etc. This went on for a while, but gradually I started to think, my cats shouldn't have done this.
[00:05:01] [SPEAKER_02] I remember testing my theory by closing the closet door completely, turning the knob and shutting it, which my cats couldn't do. I would leave for work and come home to find it totally open, or vice versa. It was a very old door and it would stick, so opening or closing it completely wasn't super easy. Most of the weird feeling and activity was in that same room with the
[00:05:30] [SPEAKER_02] aforementioned closet. My cats were in there at night. They were pretty old and they slept a lot, so they didn't roam around the room much. My friend and her daughter slept in that room one night and heard weird noises in the middle of the night. The cats were sleeping in another room, so it wasn't them. I figured it was my landlord's friend who showed up every morning at 545.
[00:05:57] [SPEAKER_02] But they said it was much earlier, around 3am. My sister slept there as well, and she felt someone tickling her eyelashes, gently playing with them in the middle of the night. I started to get more and more sure that there was a ghost, and it felt feminine to me. She felt like a prankster who didn't mean me any harm though. Finally, I decided to speak to her, because it was
[00:06:26] [SPEAKER_02] definite in my mind that she was there. So I said, this is my place now. Can you please leave us in peace? I know you mean no harm, but it's getting disruptive. Very soon after that, all the weird little things stopped happening. Then came the big night when she appeared to me. I remember it was
[00:06:51] [SPEAKER_02] summer, but my windows were closed. My ceiling fan was on, and the AC in the nearby room was running. I was slowly starting to drift off, when I clearly smelled very old-fashioned perfume. I completely woke up, and I saw her. I was terrified for a second, but I knew she was just saying goodbye.
[00:07:16] [SPEAKER_02] She was very tall, in her twenties, with brown hair up in a bun, in that early 20th century style. Her clothes were from the same period too. I'm not sure how long she appeared to me, but it couldn't have been long. I never saw or smelled her after that, and nothing ever happened again like it had before. I asked my landlord, and the building was from the thirties. She was definitely from earlier
[00:07:46] [SPEAKER_02] times than that, in the early 1900s. I always wonder who she was, and if she died in childbirth or from a cold, as people did so often then. Whatever the case, I'm honored she chose me, and I hope she's resting in peace now. We have a lot of ghost stories from the women in my family, but these are the only
[00:08:09] [SPEAKER_02] two I've personally experienced. Thanks for letting me share. In life there are things that are too good

[00:09:58] [SPEAKER_00] The Peeping Shadow Person by Eccentric Tim My great-aunt and uncle used to live in Clearville, Pennsylvania. They lived in a strangely built house. My great-uncle actually built the place himself, from what I was told. It sat on a hill overlooking his farm. He owned about 40 acres. I loved going over to his place. There was always something to do,
[00:10:25] [SPEAKER_00] and if you were bored, you were given something to do. They were even nice enough to give me some spending cash for helping. Plus, I learned a lot of life lessons. You can't really go wrong with that. The encounter I'm about to tell you happened from the ages of 7-10 years old. I encountered,
[00:10:48] [SPEAKER_00] whatever this was, for about 3 years. And it was just on and off. It happened, and then sometimes it wouldn't. Whatever this shadowy being was, it often would just pick and choose when it would do what it did. I could never predict what it was going to do, to be honest. So from the ages of 7-10, I had this encounter with this shadow being at my great-aunt and uncle's place in Clearville,
[00:11:17] [SPEAKER_00] Pennsylvania. I would always see this shadow figure poking its head and part of its body out from around the corner into the kitchen area. Whatever this thing was, it would stand at the top of the steps before you entered the kitchen. It was just leaning into the kitchen area, and it looked directly my way. I'm not going to lie and say that it didn't freak me out. I will say, after about a few
[00:11:46] [SPEAKER_00] times of this happening, it got kind of normal, and I would just ignore it as best I could. This usually wasn't super difficult, but it would do random things to get my attention. And I can gladly tell you that there were no attempts on me making friends with this thing, nor were there any attempts of me trying to confront whatever this was. I just figured I could ignore it, and it would go
[00:12:12] [SPEAKER_00] away. I was lying on the floor in a sleeping bag. That's how my siblings and I slept when we were over at their house. We were on a one-inch thick foam mat, each inside of our own sleeping bags. We were young, and that's just how it was in those days. It never bothered me to sleep on the floor, and if it did, I was told to suck it up. I would also hear things like, if you think this is hard, just wait till you get older. It gets worse.
[00:12:41] [SPEAKER_00] I would usually just respond with, never mind, it's all good. I should also mention that my relationship with my great-aunt and uncle was a rough one. It wasn't until the age of 16 that my great-uncle and I actually bonded. That was the age when he and I got along better. As for my sister, she was still their favorite. She could do something,
[00:13:06] [SPEAKER_00] and they would just let it go. But I will say that, amongst all this chaos and one-sided thinking, I did in fact find my own way. I was able to use my limited knowledge of how to farm to my advantage. It paid me in green. I voluntarily and willingly helped my great-uncle as much as I could. I gained his trust and respect and learned to fit in. It got to the point
[00:13:34] [SPEAKER_00] where I was doing a lot of chores on the farm. But let's get back to the story. As I said, I was encountering this shadow man. This shadowy being did the same stuff for about three years on and off. It would just poke its head out, and I would also see part of its body from the stairwell that led to the kitchen. And it would do this on a regular basis until one night. I was lying on the floor furthest away from everyone. I looked up into the kitchen, and my eyes locked onto what I thought
[00:14:04] [SPEAKER_00] was a human-like figure. Instead of peeking around the corner, it was boldly standing inches away from the doorway of the kitchen that led downstairs. It was swinging its arms playfully and looking at me. At this point, I see it, and I immediately seize up. I go quiet, and just watching this shadow entity stand in the kitchen doorway by the stairs, swinging these arms playfully, just looking right at me.
[00:14:34] [SPEAKER_00] I immediately think that it's got to cross the kitchen and the hallway to even come close to reaching me. After that, it's got to get to the bedroom where my great-aunt and uncle are sleeping. Well, instead of coming in my direction, this shadow person decides to just go back downstairs. And I could hear the creaking of the old steps. I literally heard maybe five separate creaking noises
[00:14:58] [SPEAKER_00] before it stopped, and no longer made a sound. The creaking noises were very slow and noticeable. I later asked my great-uncle if he had heard the noises, and he thought that it was me being up late at night because I couldn't sleep. That was one of the weirdest encounters I've had from a distance with the shadow person. This shadow person that I saw was playful. It wasn't really spooky or
[00:15:26] [SPEAKER_00] threatening. I usually hear about a lot of encounters with shadow people being scary, but this one wasn't.
[00:15:51] [SPEAKER_02] Haunted South Carolina Home by Mary Mary Vici. I have two stories for you, both involving a house I used to live in with my boyfriend and his cousin when I was stationed in South Carolina. I was in my 20s at the time and active-duty military. I met my boyfriend on base, and we started dating pretty quickly. About five months later, I moved into his house, which he was renting with his younger cousin.
[00:16:20] [SPEAKER_02] I know we moved kind of fast, but anybody who's military knows that living with roommates is the best way to feel like you actually have some money left over. So the house itself was nice. I liked the property, and there was plenty of space, and nothing about it looked creepy or run down. But from pretty much the beginning, something about it felt off to me. The best way I could
[00:16:45] [SPEAKER_02] describe it was that the place gave me plantation vibes. I know that's a weird thing to say, especially because I didn't actually know anything about the history of the house. It was just the feeling I got from the place and the property around it. At some point, I mentioned this to my boyfriend. He didn't remember how old the house was or know anything about the property. He didn't really care because it was just a rental. His cousin overheard me saying
[00:17:15] [SPEAKER_02] this, and he said something like, I bet it used to be one. Then, for whatever reason, finding out if I was right became his mission. He started looking into the property history. And sure enough, he eventually found out that it actually had been part of a plantation. I wish I could give you more details about that. I don't remember the exact year, the family name, or really anything useful.
[00:17:41] [SPEAKER_02] This was years ago, and just a, huh, I guess I was right type of thing. I also want to say that nothing happened immediately after we learned that. There wasn't suddenly a bunch of haunted activity. For the most part, we just lived there. Then, one night my boyfriend and his cousin went out to the bar, and I stayed home. I watched a movie on the couch and then went upstairs to get ready for bed. A quick note. His cousin's room was
[00:18:10] [SPEAKER_02] upstairs, too. My boyfriend would sometimes bring his laptop in there, and they'd stay up late playing video games. They could get pretty loud and were kind of just rowdy in general. Anyway, once I got into bed, literally within seconds of getting situated, I heard them coming up the stairs. And I want to be really clear about this part, because it wasn't one random creek that I thought
[00:18:37] [SPEAKER_02] were footsteps. I heard both of them walking up the stairs and talking to each other. I don't remember what they were saying. I couldn't make out specific words. But I knew their voices. I had heard those exact sounds hundreds of times. Their footsteps, the way their voices carried up the stairs, the sound of them talking as they made their way up. There was absolutely no question in my
[00:19:05] [SPEAKER_02] mind that it was them. My first thought was basically, great, now they're going to be up late playing video games. So I got out of bed to close the door before they could get any louder. And once I was about three steps from the doorway, everything went silent. Just down the hall, I had a clear view
[00:19:27] [SPEAKER_02] of the staircase. There was nobody there. I stood there for a few seconds, waiting for one of them to come around the corner, because I genuinely could not process what I was looking at. I called their names, and there was no answer. I walked over to his cousin's room, and it was empty. At that point,
[00:19:51] [SPEAKER_02] I started getting nervous. But part of my brain was still trying to make sense of it. I thought maybe they had gone back downstairs for something, even though I knew I had just heard them coming up. So I started downstairs, calling out for them again. Still nothing. Once I got to the living room, I looked out the window and noticed my boyfriend's truck wasn't there. That was when I got this huge wave
[00:20:18] [SPEAKER_02] of chills. I checked the doors and they were still locked. I ran back upstairs for my phone, and I checked my boyfriend's location. He was at a gas station at least 15 minutes away. I immediately called him. I was pretty much panicking. I told him exactly what happened. He told me to make sure all the doors were locked and just wait until they got home.
[00:20:44] [SPEAKER_02] I think I liked my idea better, though. My car was parked right outside. So I grabbed my keys, sprinted out the door, and locked myself in the car. I stayed on the phone with him until they got back. I sat there staring at the house like a hawk while I waited, looking for any sort of movement through the windows. Nothing else happened. They came home and that's where the story ends.
[00:21:12] [SPEAKER_02] I've tried telling myself that maybe it was some weird combination of house noises in my brain filling in the rest, but I really doubt that. It was way too specific and lasted too long. It sounded completely normal right up until I was about to reach the hallway. Story number two. This is just a short and funny thing that happened several months later.
[00:21:40] [SPEAKER_02] The living room was really big, so we thought it'd be cool to put a twin bed down there. We set it by one of the big windows that got lots of sunlight. It was also perfect for whenever somebody needed to crash for the night, since the couch wasn't very big. One night, my boyfriend's cousin was laying in the bed, deciding if he should go upstairs to his room or just stay there. He decided that he didn't feel like getting up, so he got under the covers and started to go to sleep.
[00:22:10] [SPEAKER_02] Within a couple of minutes, he felt the mattress start shaking and bouncing around, like somebody started jumping on it to mess with him, which was something that we sometimes did to each other. He immediately got so pissed off, and he started cussing at my boyfriend. He said he only managed to let out, you bitch ass, before he realized there was nobody else in the room with him. It was only like ten o'clock.
[00:22:39] [SPEAKER_02] My boyfriend was in the shower, and I was in bed reading. His cousin came running up the stairs, looking scared and pissed off. He stood at the doorway like he was about to say something, but immediately heard the shower was on. He looked at the bathroom door, then back at me and just said, bruh, no, no, no, no, no. He looked pitiful, and walked to his room without saying anything else. My boyfriend and his cousin have said
[00:23:09] [SPEAKER_02] that they've seen shadows moving in the corners of that house, but these are the only things I can speak on. Love the show. Stay safe and peace out, everybody.
[00:23:40] [SPEAKER_00] Who is Calling My Name by Sablecurse686 I'm a 17-year-old female. I go to public high school. I'm not really a loner, but when I walk to class or in the hallways or across the courtyard, I'm usually by myself. Recently, I've been hearing someone calling my name. In a hallway first thing in the morning, someone will be calling my name, and I'll turn around,
[00:24:09] [SPEAKER_00] and I'll look at the people behind me, but it's no one I know. I'll be sitting in class, and I'll hear my name being called multiple times by the same voice. I look around, seeing if anyone's made eye contact with me or is looking at me, and no one is. It's been happening a lot recently, especially in the past week, and I don't really know what to think about it. But here's where I get a little skeptical and start questioning.
[00:24:38] [SPEAKER_00] I'm sitting in math class beside my friend. We'll call her Addie. I see out of my peripheral vision that she's twisting her head back and forth, looking behind her, kind of like she's lost something. I ask her, Hey, are you good? She says, Okay, don't think that I'm weird. I might be schizophrenic. I swear to you, I keep hearing my name being called. It's been happening the last week, and every time I look for someone, no one's looking at me,
[00:25:08] [SPEAKER_00] and no one's called my name. I tell her the exact same thing has been happening to me, too, and I ask her what the voices sound like. She described it as a neutral voice, like it could be a man or a woman, and it's always the same exact monotone way. It's never scared or happy, just flat. And I tell her that's exactly the voice that has been calling my name as well.
[00:25:37] [SPEAKER_00] Now, I don't really know what to make of this and why it's happening, and I was wondering if anyone has had the same experience or similar, or if anyone knows why it's happening.
[00:26:03] [SPEAKER_02] Weird Lady at the Rest Stop by Allison. This happened about six years ago, when I was driving home from visiting my sister in Tennessee. I live in Indiana, so it was a pretty long drive, and I left later than I planned. Sometime after midnight, I visited a rest area in Kentucky. I really had to use the bathroom, and I figured I'd get some coffee out of the vending machine while I was there.
[00:26:31] [SPEAKER_02] There were a few trucks parked toward the back, and one car near the building. As I was walking toward the entrance, an older woman came out of the building. She had short gray hair and was wearing one of those puffy winter coats that go down past your knees. She asked me if I was heading north. I said yes, and she told me to be careful, because she heard on the radio there was an accident up ahead. I thanked her and asked her how bad it was. She said she wasn't sure,
[00:27:01] [SPEAKER_02] but I should probably take my time. Then she walked toward the parking lot, and I went inside. I used the bathroom, bought a coffee, and spent a few minutes looking at my phone. When I came back outside, the same car with its headlights on was still sitting there. The woman was also still there, standing near the entrance. I was a little confused because I thought she'd been leaving when we spoke earlier. As I walked past,
[00:27:30] [SPEAKER_02] she asked me if I was heading north. Same question. I actually laughed a little and said, yeah, you already told me about the accident. She looked genuinely confused. She said she hadn't spoken to me and had only just gotten out of her car. I assumed she was joking around, but she seemed almost annoyed when I mentioned our earlier conversation. I apologized and went back to my car. What bothered me was that
[00:28:00] [SPEAKER_02] she looked exactly like the woman I'd spoken to, right down to the coat. I even remember looking at her shoes because there were those bright white sneakers older people seem to love. There wasn't an accident I encountered, but I did see some emergency vehicles heading south about 20 minutes later. Maybe there were two women dressed alike, or maybe I was more exhausted than I realized. Maybe she was messing with me.
[00:28:29] [SPEAKER_02] But I remember that first conversation clearly, and I don't understand why she seemed so irritated.
[00:28:51] [SPEAKER_00] Farmhouse Shenanigans by Toblerone and Only. I was just reminded of this story and thought someone might enjoy it. If this gets some attention, I have a bunch of other personal experiences that I find fascinating. This is just my point of view, but I'm sure there are logical explanations to all of this, and I'm always welcome to questions or clarification because I'm not the best at writing.
[00:29:20] [SPEAKER_00] Anyway, a couple of years ago, I moved in with my wife on her family's farm. We live in a little cabin while there is this larger house that is maintained mostly for holidays and gatherings. It's pretty old and can be creepy when you're alone in there, but I've never had any weird experiences in there, at least not until this story. My grandparents were at that house to check on the grass because their lawn care guy was being flaky, if I remember correctly.
[00:29:50] [SPEAKER_00] Now I always check on them when they're out there just because they're older and I want to make sure that they're not tackling projects too big for them. Grandpa texts back that it's all good and they're headed home and just shut off all the lights and TV. Later that evening, we're walking to our barn to feed the horses and I see something glowing through the window. My wife questions if I had checked in with her grandparents
[00:30:19] [SPEAKER_00] and I reassured her that they said everything was off. Now this is where I might add that we have had people try and sneak onto our property before, so the thought of an intruder or just my grandpa forgetting to turn the TV off is possible. I kept an eye on the house to make sure that the light stayed on and had my wife run back to the truck to grab my pistol. I then approach the house and peek in that window.
[00:30:49] [SPEAKER_00] The TV seemed to be left on, but over the top of the recliner, I see the silhouette of a head sticking up. I tell my wife to stay back and check with the family group chat that nobody came over that evening. There was nothing. She decided to follow me inside. I open the back door to the house quietly and as it opens, I can hear the news pretty loud.
[00:31:17] [SPEAKER_00] I walk down the entryway slowly and as I turn the corner to the living room, there's nothing. The TV is off. Things are silent. There's nobody there. It's completely dark. We locked the doors behind us when we entered the house and we proceeded to clear every room and hiding spot in the place, but there was nothing, no sounds other than our soft footsteps and pretty shaky breath.
[00:31:47] [SPEAKER_00] My wife to this day brings this up because we both saw the glow of the TV and heard the news being on. This is why we decided to share this story. Let me know your thoughts and if this type of story is something you would be interested in. This is probably my most mild. Again, I'm no writer, just a guy with some weird life experiences. So, I will work on grammar and stuff and not put out any AI slap.
[00:32:36] [SPEAKER_00] Do you get a lot of mosquitoes where you're at?
[00:32:38] [SPEAKER_02] Actually, I am pinching on a mosquito bite on the top of my foot right as you ask that. It's, yeah, horrible. I'm assuming that means you do too.
[00:32:46] [SPEAKER_00] Yeah, they always get my ankles and there are a ton out in my area this time of year and I have like five on one ankle and lower shin. Ugh. But it feels so satisfying to scratch them.
[00:32:59] [SPEAKER_02] It feels really good. Apparently burning them works too. Applying just the right amount of heat similar to scratching it because they both override your nervous system or basically just gives it a competing signal. Like breaking your pinky if you get shot. I also heard that lighting a match and pressing it against the bite works but not an official recommendation.
[00:33:18] [SPEAKER_00] I've seen some products that people are trying to like sell online where it's like a tube that goes around it and you pull the plunger and like sucks out the venom or whatever that makes you itch and I don't buy that.
[00:33:31] [SPEAKER_02] I remember seeing Coyote Peterson from the Brave Wilderness channel. He intentionally, bless his soul, got bitten by a desert centipede and yeah, he used this plunger type of thing to extract the venom. Still, no, I couldn't do it.
[00:33:44] [SPEAKER_00] All right, let's jump into the feedback. Jennifer referencing last week's episode said, I remember the video camera story. The first time I heard it and again today, I thought it was her dad. Not pranking her but being a creep. Strained relationship and thinking she's not to be trusted for no real reason? Dad likely had some psych slash emotional issues that a nine-year-old just didn't understand. It's like a cheater
[00:34:13] [SPEAKER_00] who constantly accuses their partner of cheating. Of course, I could be totally off base but that makes more sense to me than any other explanation. Yeah, if we're going with the non-supernatural explanation but I do remember they heard their dad working in a different place like a different part of the house during that time. I'm like, it wasn't possible for it to... And also it was like these random arms like a random hands just floating there.
[00:34:43] [SPEAKER_00] But I do see what you're saying. Yeah, it could be that they were like not necessarily messing with the kids but just like, yeah, maybe it was some kind of weird trauma thing. Who knows? Who knows? We remember things very strangely from when we were kids.
[00:34:57] [SPEAKER_02] Yeah, that's true. So the dad was right outside of the bathroom apparently and he would have seen the person holding the camera.
[00:35:03] [SPEAKER_00] But yeah, hey, you're around the right track. You're headed down the same road I am which is skepticism. Yeah.
[00:35:13] [SPEAKER_02] Good old Andy. That's the real reason you're leaving. You're a skeptic but you're also going to become a Pentecostal minister like both at the same time.
[00:35:22] [SPEAKER_00] No, I respect women and I don't want to traumatize people anymore than they already are.
[00:35:29] [SPEAKER_02] That is so noble of you. You're a great person. All right. Katya back at it again says, oh, whoa, episode 203. She says, the dream timeline stories remind me of a theory of reincarnation that at least some of us live several lives concurrently instead of back to back only. Hmm, okay. Also, the Dybbuk box, debunked or not, it's cursed or got something attached to it now.
[00:35:58] [SPEAKER_02] I assure you, the energy shifts when it's discussed or when you view pictures or footage of it. Yeah, I would say so. I had hairs on the back of my neck when we listened to it but that's probably just because we thought it was real and we had the set and setting and all that.
[00:36:14] [SPEAKER_00] But moving on, Allison referencing last week as well. Those were hellhounds at the end. Someone made a deal with the devil and they were coming to collect. Also, miss you here, Andy, but I will miss you here, Andy, but I'll see you over on Let's Not Meet. Yep. We get a lot of messages like that. That's very nice of everyone saying that. Yeah, the hellhounds thing is I've always been a fan of the hellhound.
[00:36:39] [SPEAKER_02] That's a cool mascot name for sure. The hellhounds. You don't see that very often.
[00:36:43] [SPEAKER_00] I read The Hound of Baskerville, the Sherlock Holmes story, and then all the iterations of it in movies and TV. It's always just been one of my favorite stories. And it's a creepy thing. A hellhound.
[00:36:59] [SPEAKER_02] Hellhound. Yep. Yes. And then Rita Tite from episode 251. Cool. Last episode. Am I crazy or I really hear one narrator's voice tone has changed? What is happening? Well, this was a compilation of older episodes recorded in different rooms with different microphones over the course of, I don't know, four years, whatever it was. Has it been four? Five years? Whatever it is. So yeah, we're going to sound a little bit differently. We had another comment. No, yeah, it was a review,
[00:37:29] [SPEAKER_02] an Apple podcast review accusing us of being AI voices. And we got a nice, yeah, we got a nice little one star there. Um, if only work would be so much easier, but I don't think either of us could live with our conscious doing that, let alone put something out that's so obviously an AI voice. It's so distracting.
[00:37:48] [SPEAKER_00] I just don't see what's the point. Like if you don't want to podcast and record stories and narrate, why are, why would you even be doing it? You know what I mean? Like you can't be making that much money on like a AI narrating podcast or whatever. Yeah,
[00:38:04] [SPEAKER_02] there's one that I know, I know you know what it is, but I didn't realize it was AI until last night. I'm going to send it to you. It's kind of, kind of unfortunate.
[00:38:12] [SPEAKER_00] Uh,
[00:38:12] [SPEAKER_02] bummer. I have no idea. I'm curious now. It's a popular one. Yeah. It's like probably about our size a little bit more. Um, yeah.
[00:38:20] [SPEAKER_00] Mm-hmm. What a bummer. Yeah. No AI here. No AI voices ever. Cause it's like I said, that's pointless. It doesn't make any sense.
[00:38:29] [SPEAKER_02] Yep.
[00:38:29] [SPEAKER_00] Yep. So let's start talking about one of my stories here. the farmhouse shenanigans or the farmhouse phantom as I like to call it. So this is like some kind of new audio visual haunt. It's the TV ghost. Hmm. And, uh, or maybe it's like some kind of time slip encounter. Who knows? The, the detail that both the narrator and his wife like independently witnessed the glow of the TV as they said
[00:39:02] [SPEAKER_00] makes it much harder to like write it off as just a trick of the light or an auditory hallucination. I want to do that because it makes sense. You know, the skeptical explanations are pretty valid when you think about it. The, the TV could have been malfunctioning and the shadow could have just been a trick of the light, but it could also be some kind of time slip or even like stone tape theory, which I like to bring up from time to time because I find that pretty interesting. Regardless, uh,
[00:39:31] [SPEAKER_00] I'd be super creeped out if I looked through the empty house window and I saw the TV on and I saw some ghost or some phantom blot from the Mickey, Mickey Mouse cartoon hiding behind the chair.
[00:39:45] [SPEAKER_02] Yeah, no kidding. There's like several things I guess I could say to that. I just wonder what would have happened if they looked through that window for an, like another minute. Would the person in the recliner have moved? Would the broadcast have kept playing? Or maybe entering the house somehow ended whatever was happening? Who knows? And the time slip idea, that actually makes a lot of sense. Maybe they weren't seeing a ghost actively sitting there, but maybe they briefly saw and heard the room as it existed at some other point in time, like they were
[00:40:14] [SPEAKER_02] peeking into an earlier moment from the house's timeline.
[00:40:18] [SPEAKER_00] Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking as well, that stone tape theory type thing. Um, I know that shared hallucinations are a thing, like multiple people have been reported seeing the same thing, but I don't know. I've never been too convinced by that theory. It just, like why would somebody have the same hallucination as someone else? It doesn't really make sense to me. I've never bought that.
[00:40:40] [SPEAKER_02] Shared dreams make more sense. Those can be a lot more internal, whereas a hallucination is almost like a defect of some sort. Like you're, if you're hallucinating, technically you're not really seeing it. It's either there or it's not, or something really is projecting itself for you to see. So yeah, I don't know.
[00:40:57] [SPEAKER_00] Somebody in the comments on the Reddit post for this story was saying, uh, they were asking if the news report that was playing, if they can remember if it was like something current or from the past. I don't know. I don't know if they responded to it yet. I haven't checked up on it, but that's an interesting thought. It would be wild if it were like a news report from like, like the fifties or something. But yeah, super creepy story. I always like these weird, not like,
[00:41:27] [SPEAKER_00] like there wasn't anything scary happening, but just the idea of just somebody just chilling in the chair. These mundane things always just seem a little creepier than, you know, a ghost trying to scare you. Always reliable at least. But there's a lot going on in that story that you told this week. Like, let's, let's jump into it. The dread and the ghost story.
[00:41:49] [SPEAKER_02] Yeah. So, I know the first thing that people might be wondering is which state park? Very vague. New England. Come on. Come on. Well, I did some digging and I think I probably found which one it was. The Bear Brook State Park in Allentown, New Hampshire. So, four bodies were found there between 85 and 2000 and it was decided that they were probably murdered in the late 70s. But the only thing is that it was a woman and three girls
[00:42:18] [SPEAKER_02] rather than multiple women. But her dad could have maybe misremembered it or meant women slash children, girls, you know, whatever.
[00:42:27] [SPEAKER_00] Might have just had it wrong. Yeah. Yeah. That's the story mixed up.
[00:42:30] [SPEAKER_02] Mm-hmm. So, Bird Nerd, if you can confirm, let us know. It was gruesome though. I don't want to get into the details, but yeah, you can look up Bear Brook murders on Wikipedia and just seeing the thumbnail, the pictures of them, they were younger than I was imagining when I first heard it like in this story and that was, yeah, it was heavy. It kind of ruined my night a little bit so I don't want to do that too much to the listeners. But, hey, if you can stomach some true crime after some paranormal stories,
[00:43:00] [SPEAKER_02] have at it. It's, yeah, not really talked about. First time I heard of this one.
[00:43:04] [SPEAKER_00] Yeah, this is new for me too. This is wild. Gross.
[00:43:08] [SPEAKER_02] Mm-hmm. Speaking of stone tape stuff, that's it. That's probably why she got that gut feeling walking through there. Maybe it was just feeling the pain and the fear of those poor victims. Man, that sucks.
[00:43:19] [SPEAKER_00] Yeah, and then the story moves on where they're having like hauntings in the apartment.
[00:43:23] [SPEAKER_02] Yep. Yep. And then everything just stopped when she asked the woman to leave or the spirit or whatever. Basically, just asked nicely and I guess that works sometimes. Not always with Ouija boards, apparently. You gotta properly sign out and hope that you get a good one. Yeah. In this case, acknowledging the presence was all she needed. Or your skeptical take, setting the boundary, changed her expectations so she stopped noticing certain things. Andrew.
[00:43:48] [SPEAKER_00] You knew what I was thinking already. Yeah. Yeah. So, the building dated to like 1930s and the woman looked to be from the early 1900s.
[00:43:59] [SPEAKER_02] Yeah, the fashion cycle. I don't know. I don't think that was a thing back then. Like now, after like the mid-2000s, we're getting this weird fashion cycle where everything goes in and out of fashion or out of style. Back then, they kind of just very loosely borrowed, but it wasn't like a trendy throwback type of thing like it is today.
[00:44:17] [SPEAKER_00] At least in Hollywood, like in movies, like from the 1920s to the 1930s, there's quite a bit of a difference there.
[00:44:26] [SPEAKER_02] No, I just mean like people intentionally going back to several decades to be like, yeah, yeah, like vintage clothing or whatever. Yeah.
[00:44:33] [SPEAKER_00] Yeah, yeah. She could have like not been connected to the building at all though. Maybe like the land and object. The author, maybe.
[00:44:42] [SPEAKER_02] I was thinking that temporarily the author for whatever reason and she was grateful for the experience at least. I like that. It wasn't anything disturbing and she just smelled the perfume. Well, also notable that she smelled it before seeing the woman so it was kind of like she gently announced herself and then just disappeared never to be seen again. A final goodbye. Really good story.
[00:45:04] [SPEAKER_00] Final goodbye. Well, before we do our final goodbye, I want to quickly touch on the ghostly name caller and I liked this one because it kind of made me think of like a Goosebumps book or something. So, it's like, it's one thing to hear your name in a crowded echoey hallway. You know, it's easy to hear something like that and just chalk it up to your brain playing tricks on you. It's definitely a real thing especially when you're super tired early in the morning at school but in this story
[00:45:33] [SPEAKER_00] we've got a classmate who describes the exact same thing, the same neutral monotone ghost voice calling her name and it happens during the same exact week. That's kind of weird.
[00:45:46] [SPEAKER_02] Yeah, I think the reoccurrence eventually things just don't become a coincidence anymore.
[00:45:52] [SPEAKER_00] Yeah, yeah, this is too specific to be a coincidence as well especially if the author didn't even talk to their friend about it beforehand.
[00:46:00] [SPEAKER_02] Maybe they have some sort of trauma of hearing their name in a bad circumstance or something.
[00:46:05] [SPEAKER_00] Well, speaking of that, I do have this thing where sometimes I hear my mom yelling my name and I get this huge wave of panic and it just sends me back to the childhood days of constant stress and anxiety that I was dealing with. However, I've never witnessed somebody else hearing it at the same time. Has anything like that happened to you?
[00:46:29] [SPEAKER_02] There was one time I was on the couch about to fall asleep. Not even about to fall asleep, I was just laying on the couch getting in for the night and not really doing anything and I heard my name clear as day. It's like a warm, powerful male voice to say Brandon and then I just got like a wave of tinkles over my neck and chest and everything and I just looked up like, whoa, what? And like, obviously nobody was there, nothing was there. My parents were already divorced by then so it wasn't my dad. Yeah,
[00:46:58] [SPEAKER_02] it was pretty cool.
[00:47:00] [SPEAKER_00] What can I say? I'm a child of divorce. I thought you said I felt warm tinkles all over me. Maybe I did. You might have.
[00:47:10] [SPEAKER_02] Yeah, warm tinkles, yeah. I thought you said tinkles. Tinkles. Oh, no, no, no, not a golden shower type of thing, yeah.
