[00:00:10] Forget facts.
[00:00:12] Forget logic.
[00:00:14] Forget everything that seems real.
[00:00:17] Just trust. Obviously, we had to go. We stayed at one of the most infamous hotels, the Jerome Grand Hotel. It used to be the town's hospital, and over 9,000 people have died there, not including murders and suicides after the hospital was closed and the hotel was opened. Now back to the visit.
[00:01:41] I had booked us in one of the suites since there were a lot of us.
[00:01:46] It slept eight, and try to get some sleep. That did not happen. I got into bed and immediately pulled the covers up to protect myself. I was scared stiff for the entire night. After a couple of hours, my body was so sore from being so tense that I tried to relax and let my muscles loosen.
[00:03:02] I was finally starting to and had not moved. I jumped out of bed and I left that room. I've had experiences before,
[00:04:20] but I've never been touched by something. I was this piano a few feet away from us and it sounded like somebody was knocking on the piano. But after that scary room that I was in, the knocks were not so scary. About half an hour or so after my friend had fallen back to sleep, she suddenly started
[00:05:42] mumbling in of sleep. One by one, my friends started to get up.
[00:07:01] Another girl who was sleeping in the next room came out first.
[00:07:04] Now this friend is special. My Wife Has A Doppelganger By Becca
[00:08:20] My wife's name is Annabelle, but she was nowhere to be found. When she came home through the front door later, they asked her why she didn't say hi and left through the back so soon. Annabelle no way she could have come back into the house without them noticing. These were told to me as fun, spooky stories. We joked about it being an astral projection, a ghost of a relative or just the family being easily confused.
[00:11:00] But then one day, I saw her doppelganger too.
[00:11:04] We had been living together for almost three years a police car, and it still had stickers explaining how to store police equipment inside of it. After that it was a taxi, so when we bought it, it had nearly 300,000 miles on it,
[00:13:44] and we had to scrape the taxi logo off the sides I reach for the leash, and I don't have it. I realized I must have dropped it while we took a break under a tree. So Emoji and I walked back to retrieve it. When we got back to the parking lot, I looked for our car and didn't see it. It wasn't parked where I saw it at all. Maybe I should have. I wonder if the entity used up a lot of energy to create the illusion of the car, and maybe that's why I never saw her face. I'm not sure what these mimics are, but we all naturally get the feeling that they're harmful, and should be avoided.
[00:15:02] That's a natural instinct we should pay attention to. something truly miraculous? Well, look no further, because miracle-made sheets are here to revolutionize your bedtime. [00:18:45] My older sister and I were concerned with his health, so we asked him to go see his cardiologist because dad was having some breathing issues and such.
[00:18:51] He was a heavy smoker for over 40 years.
[00:18:54] Dad came back and told us that the cardiologist gave him 5 years.
[00:18:59] He had congestive heart failure.
[00:19:01] His heart was only functioning at 25%.
[00:19:06] Dad made it to 4. and it wasn't stopping. We had to get ready for the funeral with no power. My husband, my nephew, and I get into our truck and drive to town and down the unplowed roads. I turned on the radio because I needed something to fill the air to keep my mind off of what was coming ahead.
[00:20:20] I flipped through radio station after radio station knew that it was Dad laughing along at night. It was nice.
[00:23:00] One day I was down in my basement bedroom
[00:23:03] with my door wide open.
[00:23:06] I was folding my and ran upstairs to my grandparents, who promptly laughed at me and invited me to have lunch and frozen yogurt. I placed a copy of the stories about that house that happened in the dark, but this one happened with all of the lights on. There was a night when we were all getting ready to leave. I think we were going to see a basketball game or something that night.
[00:25:43] I remember that all of the lights in the was wearing. He appeared to be in his late fifties, very normal and unassuming in his appearance. He was wearing a long brown overcoat with a matching hat and an old business-looking suit underneath. He also had a large suitcase in his right hand.
[00:27:02] I just stood there, staring at him.
[00:27:05] Him staring at me. Why's the Attic Door Locked?
[00:28:21] By Justin
[00:28:22] Please be advised, this decided to open my eyes.
[00:29:43] There, about four to five standing over me with a knife. He cut me and I screamed. My mom and her boyfriend rushed into my room and turned on the light. I was breathing heavily and crying, but wouldn't tell them what happened.
[00:31:01] When they opened my bedroom door, my cat ran in and jumped band-aid on my face, and she let me sleep with her that night. I ended up sleeping in her room for a few weeks after that. Fast forward a few nights, and I'm sleeping in my mom and her boyfriend's room. My mom's boyfriend had just laid down and heard something I got the cut under my eye. Since she was my favorite person at the time, I replied, The boy did it. She asked, What boy? And I said, The boy in my room. Later she tells my mom what I said.
[00:33:42] My mother, fascinated by the paranormal, did some research at the library using microfiche So before we get started, we have to thank all of you so much for the numbers that we saw on our Spotify wrapped breakdown. Yeah, it was really incredible. Over 5000 of you listen to OddTrails more than any other podcast. And that's just for those who listen on Spotify.
[00:35:01] Wow.
[00:35:02] My phone was flooded with notifications of people tagging us in their Instagram stories. Yeah, definitely. It's unfortunate that a lot of the most compelling stories feature suicide or even just an accidental death. But I gotta say, I really like that story. Yeah, same. I enjoyed it a lot, all things considered. It just checked a lot of boxes, you know what I mean? Yeah, we've got early childhood sensitivity to the paranormal.
[00:36:22] Check.
[00:36:23] The family pet reacting accordingly.
[00:36:26] Check. who probably don't live there anymore. But have you considered reaching out to whoever currently lives there and seeing if they've had any similar experiences? I know it's a little wild, but have you? You know, that's actually a solid idea. I mean, the fact the landlord not only kept the attic door locked, but stressed the importance
[00:37:40] of never trying to go inside is pretty telling.
[00:37:43] So yeah, I'd say right back to us
[00:37:45] if you're willing to explore a little further, A true horror podcast? Yeah, a true horror podcast. How so? So the person in the story will get all of these red flags about some creep that they're involved with, only to find out later that their gut was right all along. So sometimes they'll have a history of violence and disturbing crimes that surface,
[00:39:00] or they'll end up seeing them on the news years later
[00:39:04] for doing something awful and their gut was right.
[00:39:07] Oh yeah, I little tater tot.
[00:40:21] What about you?
[00:40:22] It's not even that scary, but I really liked the one horror and that seems to be the way a lot of movies are going these days This is not my thing. No, I'm totally there with you. Yeah I think that's why we do this this this these talks at the ends of these episodes. It lightens the mood it
[00:41:45] Brings us back to the baseline. Yeah with a positive
