[00:00:58] Creepy Experiences at a Resident Facility by Creepy Cryptid 1969. I worked as a licensed nursing
[00:01:07] assistant, or LNA, for this nice resident facility in Concord, New Hampshire. The first year I worked
[00:01:15] there I volunteered to work a night shift after a long day shift because we were short-staffed. After
[00:01:21] all the residents went to bed, all the LNAs gathered on the floor lounge to get our books done and up
[00:01:28] to date. We were in there for quite a while when a light went off at the end of the hall. Knowing that
[00:01:35] this resident likely needed the restroom, I rushed to her side. When I entered, I saw a black floating
[00:01:42] mist above her. She was hysterical, pointing at the mist and saying that it was here to get her.
[00:01:50] I'm not a religious person, but I wanted to calm her and I knew I could not acknowledge the mist above her.
[00:01:58] It's not unusual for these kinds of strange things to happen, in these types of facilities at least.
[00:02:05] I turned off the light and I held her hand. We prayed. The mist vanished. I calmed her down
[00:02:13] and stayed with her until she went back to sleep. I creeped out of her room and went back to the lounge.
[00:02:20] I reported what I saw to the others, but we cannot report it in our books.
[00:02:26] I found out that this mist had been seen in several rooms on the night shift for weeks.
[00:02:34] For another experience, I was working with a night shift LNA that volunteered to work the day shift on my floor.
[00:02:42] I was friends with him outside of work as we were both riders. It was getting to the end of our shift
[00:02:49] and we had brought our residents to the bathroom and readied them for the activities that took place
[00:02:55] in the basement where most of the administration was located. The other LNA and I brought our last
[00:03:01] residents to the activity and we were walking back to the elevator. We weren't walking the stairs,
[00:03:08] even though it was just one flight up. It was a long day. We had someone walk out of the bathroom
[00:03:14] ahead of us and went around the corner to the elevator. I holler, hey, hold the elevator.
[00:03:21] We were only seconds behind this person. We turned the corner and there was no one there.
[00:03:28] The other LNA and I just looked at each other. There was no place that this person could have gone.
[00:03:35] It was a dead end. I asked if I was going crazy and did they see that person? The other LNA agreed.
[00:03:45] Where did they go? It took forever for these elevators to go from floor to floor and at this
[00:03:51] time of day there were a ton of visitors and changes of shifts. The elevator would take longer
[00:03:58] to get down to the basement at this time of day. One of our residents turned 100 years old and she
[00:04:05] had called me in to read a letter she received from the President of the United States. This was
[00:04:11] George W. Bush at the time. I had a few days off from work. When I returned, I heard the awful news
[00:04:18] that she had left us in her sleep. The nurse on duty on that floor in our staff meeting read a note
[00:04:25] that her alarm light kept going off. Just then, the panel showed a light going off in that room.
[00:04:34] I thought that it was the roommate. I volunteered to go see what she needed. I entered the room and the
[00:04:40] roommate was nowhere to be found. The light was coming from the empty bed of the resident that
[00:04:46] had just passed. I shut it off, thinking that it was a fluke. After that, it seemed to keep going
[00:04:54] off minutes after you would shut it off. I volunteered to go to the empty top floor where we kept extra
[00:05:02] supplies to get a new plug. I came back down and I replaced the plug. But before I left the room,
[00:05:09] the light went off again. I removed the plug but forgot the fail-safe that if you remove the plug for
[00:05:17] any length of time, the light would go off. Just then, I asked the nurse, did anyone leave the window
[00:05:24] open after she passed? The nurse looked at the note. No, no one did that. It's not unusual that after
[00:05:32] passing in a residential facility, you opened the window. It's believed that it allows the spirit of
[00:05:39] the deceased to escape. I reattached the plug and opened the window. At the end of my shift, I closed
[00:05:46] it. The light never went off for the rest of my shift after I opened the window. The next day,
[00:05:54] there were no reports of that light going off. Gettysburg Hotel by 4th Degree Night.
[00:06:25] Back in 2020, I decided to take my family on a trip to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
[00:06:31] I love history and love reading everything about the Civil War. Now, Gettysburg is supposed to be a
[00:06:38] very haunted place, so you would expect to see things out in the battlefield, cemeteries, and old buildings.
[00:06:46] The following, though, happened at our hotel. Upon checking in, I asked the staff about laundry
[00:06:53] facilities, as we didn't arrive directly to Gettysburg, but landed in Richmond and visited
[00:06:59] a bunch of battlefields along the way. I tend to pack light, so by the time we arrived in Gettysburg,
[00:07:05] we needed to wash some clothes. This evening, we got back to our hotel rather late. I had asked the
[00:07:12] hotel if it was still okay to do laundry, as there was a sign that said no laundry after, I think,
[00:07:18] 8pm or something. The woman at the front desk said it was fine, because there was no one staying in
[00:07:24] the rooms near the laundry room. I had to run back to the room to gather my laundry and then back to
[00:07:31] the front desk, because I ran out of quarters. So by the time I started laundry, it was well past 9pm.
[00:07:39] The hotel only had one washer and dryer, so rather than running back over to my room,
[00:07:45] I was looking up things to do the next day and looking at my phone watching videos.
[00:07:50] I had my body facing the washer and dryer, so off to my left-hand side was the interior hallway
[00:07:57] that led to the other rooms and the double doors to the outside.
[00:08:02] The noise from the washer was a bit loud when you were in the room, so when I also had my clothes in
[00:08:08] the dryer, it was even louder. I was only paying attention to my phone, not looking down the hallway.
[00:08:15] However, I heard a door open and close. I didn't look, and just assumed someone was in the hallway.
[00:08:25] In my peripheral vision, I saw a shadow walking towards me at the very end of the other hallway,
[00:08:32] so I poked my head up and turned to look down the hallway, totally expecting to see another guest
[00:08:38] or hotel employee. I turned and saw that there was no one there. I just assumed maybe they went into a
[00:08:47] room, but I remembered the hotel staff telling me no one was staying near the laundry room.
[00:08:54] Everybody was in the more central part of the hotel. You also needed a hotel keycard to get in
[00:09:00] from the outside, so it wouldn't have been a random person off the street. I turn and go back to looking
[00:09:08] at my phone, facing the washer and dryer. A few minutes later, I heard a loud boom from down the hallway.
[00:09:16] It sounded like metal poles falling over or something. I jumped up and looked down the hallway,
[00:09:24] but again saw nothing. As I started transferring some laundry into a bag, I saw someone down the
[00:09:32] hallway again, so I turned to get a better look, and the lights were dim, and no one was there.
[00:09:40] I started to feel very uneasy, like someone was staring at me. To make matters worse,
[00:09:48] I had to wait 30 more minutes for this load to finish. I started facing the hallway rather than
[00:09:54] the washer and dryer. I can't tell if my eyes are playing tricks on me, maybe a little tired from
[00:10:01] the trip or what, but I keep expecting someone to pop out or jump out and attack me. I eventually
[00:10:09] walk out into the hallway to make sure no one was there. I looked around and it's just an empty
[00:10:15] hallway, and the outer doors leading to this part of the hotel are closed. As soon as the last of my
[00:10:23] laundry finished drying, I packed it all up in another bag and got out of there as quickly as I
[00:10:29] could. Now that all the machines are off and I can hear clearly, just as I get to the door leading to
[00:10:37] the outside, I hear footsteps. I turned, thinking someone was walking up on me, but again, nothing.
[00:10:49] I left that part of the hotel and made it back to my room. My wife looked at me with an expression,
[00:10:55] begging to know what just happened to me. All I said was, well, I totally believe all these stories
[00:11:03] about Gettysburg being haunted. For a gift that's always on time and lasts a lifetime, you can't do

[00:12:53] I just had the bejesus scared out of me the other night by blonde damn bition. I'm still trying to process
[00:13:02] something that happened to me a few nights ago. I had woken up hungry and decided to get a bowl of cereal.
[00:13:09] It was about 2 or 3 a.m. My husband and I live with my mother because she has severe short-term memory loss.
[00:13:17] While she can function fine day to day, she can't live by herself because she can't remember to pay bills
[00:13:24] and manage other daily responsibilities. I moved in about 8 years ago while my dad was still alive.
[00:13:32] He had dementia, and they both needed our help. He passed in 2022, but we stayed on. By that time,
[00:13:41] my mom started having her own issues. The house is two stories. When you're in the living room facing
[00:13:47] the kitchen, which is the direction the furniture is all facing, the stairs to the second floor are on
[00:13:54] the right. I was sitting in the recliner eating my cereal and watching some TV when I heard my mother
[00:14:00] call my name plain as day. It sounded like she was standing on the second story landing, which is out
[00:14:08] of sight unless you walk to the foot of the stairs. Her hearing wasn't great, so I called back kind of
[00:14:15] loudly. Yeah? I wasn't worried about waking up my husband because our bedroom was at the very end
[00:14:22] of the hall. The door was closed, and he slept with earphones in. He falls asleep listening to videos on
[00:14:30] YouTube because, if he doesn't, every little sound will wake him up. I also wasn't alarmed by the idea
[00:14:38] of my mom being up this late or, I guess, this early. My husband got her a puppy two years ago, and while
[00:14:45] he's all of our dog, he's fiercely attached to her, and he sleeps with her. She often gets up in the
[00:14:52] middle of the night to take him outside because, since she no longer works or keeps a strict schedule,
[00:14:58] her sleeping patterns can be irregular. After calling back to her and not getting an answer,
[00:15:05] I called again louder. When I still didn't hear anything, I got up and I walked to the foot of the
[00:15:11] stairs, thinking she just couldn't hear me. She wasn't there. The door was shut, which was unusual
[00:15:19] because she usually leaves it cracked to let her cats, who sleep in her room as well, come out to access
[00:15:25] their litter boxes. I walked upstairs and opened her door. Her room was pitch dark. She was in bed.
[00:15:33] I woke her up when I opened the door. She sat part of the way up. I thought that she had laid back
[00:15:41] down, so I asked, what did you need? Her response made it clear that she hadn't been up recently.
[00:15:48] She was slurring and seemed confused, and I realized I had woken her up out of a deep sleep.
[00:15:56] Even the dog had been asleep because every time she got up, he got up with her. If she had been in the
[00:16:03] hall recently, so would he. That's when I realized she hadn't been the one to call my name. It couldn't
[00:16:10] have been my husband either. His voice is deep and could never be mistaken for hers. But I'm telling
[00:16:17] you, this was her voice. I did not imagine it. It was clear and fairly loud, just saying,
[00:16:26] Heather. My cat Snow was downstairs with me at the time. She had been grooming herself. But when the
[00:16:34] voice called out to me, she stopped and looked up the stairs towards the voice. That further proved
[00:16:40] to me that it wasn't just in my head. After going back downstairs, scared, I tried distracting myself
[00:16:48] with watching TV again. I then heard what sounded like music faintly, as if a TV upstairs was on.
[00:16:56] But my mom's TV was off, and the one in my bedroom wasn't on either. My cats seemed scared as well.
[00:17:05] I don't know what it was. I grew up in this house, and although I've been hypersensitive to the
[00:17:12] paranormal for a long time, I've never had anything really happen here. As an empath, I can sense
[00:17:19] negative spirits or energy, but I've never felt anything here. All my experiences have occurred
[00:17:26] away from this house. The only thing that comes close is when my dad was alive and deep in his
[00:17:34] dementia. He always talked about seeing people here, nothing bad, but in particular, a man that he
[00:17:40] called Captain X. My dad said that Captain X was 10 feet tall and wore a top hat or something.
[00:17:48] My dad never seemed afraid of him, so my mom, husband, and I dismissed his hallucinations,
[00:17:55] which are a known symptom of his type of dementia. But years ago, my husband did see a shadow of a very
[00:18:03] tall figure. I thought that he was imagining it or sleepy, until it happened to me too.
[00:18:09] One night, around 3am, I was in our room, and I saw it on the wall. I didn't feel in danger,
[00:18:17] but I do remember the outline of the hat. It didn't last long. I woke my husband up, freaked out,
[00:18:25] and he just said, that's Captain X. He's harmless. Go back to sleep. Other than that,
[00:18:33] and a time when my dad's electronic adding machine went off by itself, even though it was unplugged,
[00:18:39] nothing else happened here. At least, nothing negative.
[00:18:43] My UFO Experience in 2007 by Nico
[00:19:06] I went to an alternative high school. I almost dropped out, so I was offered the chance to make
[00:19:12] up credits by going to a wilderness program, where we tended to chickens and a garden,
[00:19:17] and went on an annual 10-day camping trip.
[00:19:21] In 2007, we went to the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
[00:19:26] Like most who share their stories, I feel stupid and skeptical to even recount it.
[00:19:33] But I've had aliens on the brain lately, and I've been into the creepy and occult since I was a kid.
[00:19:40] Incident 1
[00:19:42] I can't recall exactly what time of the year it was, but it must have been just before summer break.
[00:19:48] Let's say it was around May or June.
[00:19:52] On one of the first nights, we stood around a campfire and reflected on the trip so far.
[00:19:58] I believe I was one of the only, if not the only, person who caught what happened.
[00:20:04] We were in a valley next to a small river, surrounded by mountains.
[00:20:09] One of the mountains to the west of the campsite completely lit up with blue light,
[00:20:14] as if a blue studio light large enough to light the entire mountainside flashed for a second.
[00:20:21] There was no rain, no lightning, or a storm.
[00:20:25] The weather had been fairly sunny and clear.
[00:20:29] Incident 2
[00:20:31] Nearing the end of the trip, we'd moved to another area to camp for the evening,
[00:20:36] and everyone was laid out in their sleeping bags.
[00:20:40] I've never been a good sleeper, chronic insomnia since childhood,
[00:20:45] so I laid in silence while most others snoozed, staring up at the clear, star-filled sky.
[00:20:53] I noticed the starry sky being blacked out by something that looked about the size of a frisbee.
[00:20:59] It appeared to be a very thin, lightweight disk that hovered and vibrated slightly,
[00:21:05] like the surface tension of a leaf on top of water.
[00:21:09] It would stay stationary in one spot for 10 to 20 seconds,
[00:21:14] before rapidly zipping to another spot in the sky.
[00:21:19] It seemed to be tracing a pattern, repeating this process a few times,
[00:21:24] before finally zooming off at a rapid speed into the sky and disappearing.
[00:21:30] I just watched a documentary about the Nimitz and USS Roosevelt sightings,
[00:21:36] and it sparked a memory.
[00:21:38] The way the crafts in the Nimitz footage were described,
[00:21:41] as hovering stationary before zipping off at high speeds to another stationary position,
[00:21:47] was the same exact behavior I saw in 2007.
[00:21:52] I'm highly skeptical.
[00:21:54] I'm more inclined to believe that the government does in fact have
[00:21:58] extremely advanced drone technology.
[00:22:01] But the dreamer in me wants to believe that it's aliens.
[00:22:06] I asked my mother if she'd ever seen a UFO,
[00:22:09] and she described exactly the same behavior in a sighting she had seen a few years ago,
[00:22:15] right here in our backyard in Northern California.
[00:22:19] Hovering as if observing,
[00:22:22] zipping to another spot,
[00:22:24] repeating the process, and so on,
[00:22:26] until zooming away.
[00:22:29] I'm a healthy mix of doubtful and hopeful
[00:22:32] that there are other forms of life out there.
[00:22:35] I know what I saw,
[00:22:37] and those two events in 2007 will always stick with me.
[00:22:42] I just find it strange that so many people have seen crafts,
[00:22:47] whether alien or made by the government,
[00:22:50] with the same movement patterns.
[00:22:52] Thanks for reading.
[00:22:53] Do you ever look at your dog and wonder,

[00:24:43] My Experience in Washington's Cascade Mountains
[00:24:47] by Jack Spratt90
[00:24:49] I have always loved the outdoors.
[00:24:53] I was fortunate enough to be born
[00:24:56] in the Great Pacific Northwest,
[00:24:58] specifically the Western Washington Cascades.
[00:25:01] My father and I spent much of my early years
[00:25:04] exploring the mountains fishing and hunting.
[00:25:07] There are parts of the Cascades
[00:25:09] that I know like the back of my hand.
[00:25:11] One of those places is called Goblin Creek,
[00:25:15] located up off of Highway 2.
[00:25:18] When I was a kid,
[00:25:20] we would drive up there to fish, shoot,
[00:25:22] or collect a specific type of rock.
[00:25:25] When cut in half and polished,
[00:25:27] these rocks would resemble a scenic view
[00:25:30] of mountains from within a cave.
[00:25:32] I don't recall the true name of these stones.
[00:25:35] We just called them picture rocks.
[00:25:38] My father's friend and neighbor
[00:25:40] owned an art gallery and mineral shop
[00:25:43] that used to be a church.
[00:25:44] If you've ever driven through startup
[00:25:47] on your way from Sultan to Gold Bear
[00:25:49] on Highway 2,
[00:25:51] you might remember seeing a robot sculpture
[00:25:53] outside the shop.
[00:25:55] My dad built that.
[00:25:58] This is where we sold the stones
[00:26:00] for about $2 a pound.
[00:26:02] It was lucrative revenue for a preteen.
[00:26:06] We walked from the creek,
[00:26:08] where we harvested these rocks,
[00:26:10] to the dirt road,
[00:26:11] which wasn't particularly long.
[00:26:13] But it was long enough
[00:26:15] that you could potentially get lost
[00:26:16] if you didn't know your way.
[00:26:19] In all the years that we spent at this creek,
[00:26:22] I only ever saw two other people out there.
[00:26:27] One was a game warden,
[00:26:29] who heard the gunshots from our target practice
[00:26:31] and tracked us down to ensure that everything was okay,
[00:26:34] and the other person,
[00:26:36] well, they're the subject of this story.
[00:26:39] When I was about 14,
[00:26:41] I distinctly remember
[00:26:42] hauling a backpack full of rocks
[00:26:45] up from the creek
[00:26:46] to my dad's truck.
[00:26:48] Along the way,
[00:26:49] I encountered a man
[00:26:50] who looked to be about 30 years old.
[00:26:53] We both seemed surprised
[00:26:54] to see someone else
[00:26:55] in this remote section of the mountains.
[00:26:58] As I got closer to him,
[00:27:00] he was heading down to the creek
[00:27:02] while I was heading up the road.
[00:27:04] He seemed increasingly startled,
[00:27:06] almost as if he were seeing a ghost.
[00:27:09] He didn't say anything as I passed.
[00:27:11] He just stared at me
[00:27:14] like he was trying to figure out
[00:27:16] how to ask me something.
[00:27:18] After passing him,
[00:27:19] I remember thinking
[00:27:20] how much this guy looked like
[00:27:22] he could be in my family.
[00:27:24] The resemblance was uncanny.
[00:27:27] I continued up to the truck,
[00:27:29] dumped my load of rocks,
[00:27:31] and headed back down to the creek
[00:27:32] to meet my dad.
[00:27:34] When I arrived,
[00:27:35] I told him about the encounter
[00:27:36] and asked if he had seen the man.
[00:27:39] He said that he hadn't.
[00:27:40] The encounter stuck with me,
[00:27:42] vividly,
[00:27:43] over the years.
[00:27:46] Last year,
[00:27:47] I was visiting my family,
[00:27:48] and I decided to head to Goblin Creek
[00:27:50] for nostalgic purposes.
[00:27:52] It had been about 15 years
[00:27:54] since I had last been there.
[00:27:56] Along the way,
[00:27:57] I found out that that road
[00:27:58] had washed out years before.
[00:28:00] But luckily,
[00:28:01] I knew of another way,
[00:28:03] up Jack Pass.
[00:28:05] I found the dirt road,
[00:28:07] parked where my dad used to park,
[00:28:09] and started walking
[00:28:10] through the woods
[00:28:11] down to the creek.
[00:28:12] Along the way,
[00:28:13] I saw something
[00:28:14] that shook me to my core.
[00:28:16] About halfway through the woods,
[00:28:18] I saw someone else
[00:28:19] coming up from the creek.
[00:28:22] It was a boy
[00:28:23] about 14 years old.
[00:28:24] He was wearing a backpack
[00:28:25] that looked heavily burdened.
[00:28:27] As we got closer,
[00:28:29] I grew increasingly
[00:28:29] confused and shocked.
[00:28:31] The boy looked exactly
[00:28:33] like I did at that age.
[00:28:35] I wanted to say something
[00:28:37] to him as he passed,
[00:28:38] but I couldn't find
[00:28:39] the right words.
[00:28:40] He passed me
[00:28:41] and kept going.
[00:28:43] I walked a little further
[00:28:44] and then stopped
[00:28:45] when it hit me.
[00:28:46] I remembered the encounter
[00:28:48] from my teenage years,
[00:28:49] and I realized
[00:28:51] I had just lived
[00:28:52] the other half
[00:28:53] of the experience.
[00:28:54] Both the man
[00:28:55] and the boy were me.
[00:28:57] Separated by roughly
[00:28:58] 15 years.
[00:29:00] I turned around,
[00:29:01] and I ran back
[00:29:02] to try and catch up
[00:29:03] to the boy
[00:29:04] in the dense
[00:29:04] western Washington woods.
[00:29:06] I ran all the way
[00:29:07] back up the road
[00:29:08] where my truck was parked,
[00:29:09] but he was gone.
[00:29:12] The thing is,
[00:29:13] there was nowhere else
[00:29:14] for him to go
[00:29:14] besides the road,
[00:29:16] and I hadn't stalled
[00:29:17] long enough to lose him.
[00:29:18] He simply vanished.
[00:29:21] Curiosity got the best of me,
[00:29:22] so I hurried down
[00:29:23] to the creek,
[00:29:24] half expecting to find
[00:29:25] my dad fishing
[00:29:26] on the bank.
[00:29:27] 15 years younger.
[00:29:29] But I didn't find anyone.
[00:29:31] I ended up going home,
[00:29:33] deciding this experience
[00:29:34] was just too unbelievable
[00:29:36] to share with my friends
[00:29:37] and family.
[00:29:38] So why do you think
[00:29:59] the nursing assistants
[00:30:00] weren't allowed to write
[00:30:01] anything down
[00:30:02] that was strange
[00:30:03] that took place
[00:30:04] with the residents?
[00:30:05] Well,
[00:30:06] the author actually
[00:30:07] addressed this.
[00:30:08] They said that
[00:30:08] you couldn't talk
[00:30:10] about anything
[00:30:11] that might give
[00:30:12] the facility a bad name.
[00:30:13] They said that
[00:30:14] someone was actually
[00:30:15] fired because they told
[00:30:16] the children of one
[00:30:18] of the residents
[00:30:18] that the facility
[00:30:19] had unexplained
[00:30:20] happenings.
[00:30:22] It's funny because
[00:30:22] there are some states
[00:30:24] where sellers
[00:30:25] are legally required
[00:30:26] to disclose
[00:30:26] whether or not
[00:30:27] a property is haunted
[00:30:28] to any potential buyers,
[00:30:30] or at least
[00:30:30] I know in New York
[00:30:31] there is a lot like that.
[00:30:33] Yeah, yeah,
[00:30:33] there's a few states
[00:30:34] and I was just
[00:30:35] reading about that.
[00:30:36] There was this case
[00:30:37] in New York
[00:30:38] that enforced
[00:30:38] the Ghostbuster ruling
[00:30:40] as they call it.
[00:30:41] Yeah,
[00:30:42] it allowed the buyer
[00:30:43] to rescind
[00:30:44] because they found out
[00:30:45] the place was haunted
[00:30:45] that they were buying.
[00:30:47] Yeah,
[00:30:47] it was some weird thing
[00:30:48] where the seller
[00:30:49] first listed the house
[00:30:50] as haunted
[00:30:51] but later tried
[00:30:52] saying it wasn't
[00:30:52] and the courts
[00:30:53] were basically like
[00:30:54] nah,
[00:30:55] no take backs
[00:30:55] which legitimized
[00:30:57] the haunting itself
[00:30:58] at least legally.
[00:30:59] Yeah,
[00:31:00] yeah,
[00:31:01] we can't let this
[00:31:02] happen again.
[00:31:02] Better write
[00:31:03] a Ghostbuster law.
[00:31:06] Yeah,
[00:31:06] I love it,
[00:31:07] love it.
[00:31:08] You know,
[00:31:08] just the fact
[00:31:09] ghosts and UFOs
[00:31:10] are even a thing
[00:31:11] in legal documents
[00:31:12] makes me so happy.
[00:31:13] Yeah,
[00:31:14] yeah,
[00:31:14] recently a former
[00:31:15] Pentagon UFO hunter
[00:31:16] addressed Congress
[00:31:17] just a few days ago
[00:31:19] talking about
[00:31:19] how the US government
[00:31:20] hides evidence
[00:31:22] about UFOs.
[00:31:23] It was really fascinating
[00:31:25] and you know,
[00:31:25] this is just like
[00:31:26] a fascinating time
[00:31:27] and you know,
[00:31:29] it's weird that governments
[00:31:30] make laws
[00:31:31] about supernatural stuff.
[00:31:33] Yep,
[00:31:34] I think that's a sign
[00:31:35] that something is there.
[00:31:36] Yeah,
[00:31:37] yeah,
[00:31:37] I'm expecting them
[00:31:38] to start applying
[00:31:38] air traffic laws
[00:31:39] to aliens.
[00:31:41] Oh man,
[00:31:42] you'd have so many
[00:31:43] disgruntled
[00:31:43] FAA employees
[00:31:45] and air traffic
[00:31:46] controllers.
[00:31:47] Imagine all the red tape
[00:31:48] and additional procedures
[00:31:50] and protocol
[00:31:50] that would come with
[00:31:51] legitimizing alien pilots.
[00:31:53] Like not just UFOs,
[00:31:54] but aliens piloting
[00:31:56] these things
[00:31:56] who,
[00:31:58] mind you,
[00:31:58] probably find the concept
[00:31:59] of borders
[00:32:00] and private airspace
[00:32:01] extremely silly.
[00:32:03] You don't think
[00:32:03] that aliens
[00:32:04] have their own turf
[00:32:05] up in space?
[00:32:08] I don't know.
[00:32:09] Yeah,
[00:32:10] I bet they roam around
[00:32:11] like packs of wolves
[00:32:12] using beacons
[00:32:13] or something
[00:32:14] to ward away
[00:32:14] rival aliens.
[00:32:15] You know,
[00:32:16] I do like that.
[00:32:17] I'm sure they're up there
[00:32:18] like,
[00:32:18] oh,
[00:32:18] the green goblins
[00:32:19] better not see
[00:32:20] any of you
[00:32:20] meanie greenies
[00:32:21] around these parts
[00:32:22] ever again.
[00:32:24] Stay 17,000 light years
[00:32:26] away from Tigiak
[00:32:27] or else.
[00:32:29] Tigiak.
[00:32:29] I caught that.
[00:32:31] I caught that.
[00:32:32] Only real cultists know.
[00:32:34] Yeah,
[00:32:34] more should.
[00:32:35] Yeah.
[00:32:36] We'll just let the uninitiated
[00:32:37] Google that one.
[00:32:38] Yeah,
[00:32:39] keeps that fun.
[00:32:40] A little gatekeeping
[00:32:40] never hurt anyone.
[00:32:42] Man,
[00:32:42] just a couple of days ago
[00:32:43] the government came out
[00:32:44] with a new report
[00:32:45] documenting hundreds
[00:32:46] of more UFO cases
[00:32:48] we previously
[00:32:49] weren't made aware of.
[00:32:50] Yeah,
[00:32:51] that was probably connected
[00:32:51] to the address
[00:32:53] that they did with Congress.
[00:32:54] I think that at least
[00:32:55] a dozen of those
[00:32:56] were truly unidentified
[00:32:58] in the sense
[00:32:58] that they have
[00:32:59] no leading theories
[00:33:00] completely stumped.
[00:33:02] Yeah,
[00:33:03] yeah.
[00:33:03] I just love how casual it is
[00:33:05] the government is finally
[00:33:06] able to be like
[00:33:07] yep,
[00:33:07] that's a UFO
[00:33:08] but don't call them that.
[00:33:09] Yeah,
[00:33:10] it's such a silly compromise.
[00:33:11] It actually infuriates me
[00:33:13] but whatever.
[00:33:14] Yeah.
[00:33:14] The old timers
[00:33:15] and hyper rationalists
[00:33:17] will always
[00:33:18] have a negative association
[00:33:19] with UFO
[00:33:20] so if calling them UAPs
[00:33:22] is what it takes
[00:33:23] for a real discussion
[00:33:25] to be had
[00:33:26] so be it
[00:33:27] I guess.
[00:33:27] Well,
[00:33:28] yeah,
[00:33:29] I'm with you.
[00:33:29] I'm actually
[00:33:30] fairly optimistic
[00:33:31] that we'll get
[00:33:32] something substantial
[00:33:33] from the government
[00:33:34] in our lifetime.
[00:33:35] Not this vague
[00:33:36] we don't know what it is
[00:33:37] so technically
[00:33:37] it's a UAP
[00:33:38] but do not
[00:33:40] ask us about aliens.
[00:33:42] Or else
[00:33:42] we'll spank you.
[00:33:44] Yeah.
[00:33:45] Yeah.
[00:33:46] Fun.
[00:33:47] So with the ghost busting law
[00:33:49] I'm generally
[00:33:50] not in favor
[00:33:51] of rules and laws
[00:33:53] keep it simple
[00:33:54] but I'd for sure
[00:33:55] want to know
[00:33:56] if the nursing facility
[00:33:57] I'm putting a family member in
[00:33:58] is haunted or not.
[00:33:59] Yeah.
[00:34:00] But ideally
[00:34:01] I'd have the time
[00:34:02] and space
[00:34:02] and resources
[00:34:03] just to take care
[00:34:04] of my loved ones
[00:34:04] for myself.
[00:34:05] Yeah.
[00:34:06] And then your house
[00:34:06] ends up being haunted
[00:34:07] anyway
[00:34:08] so it makes no difference.
[00:34:10] You know
[00:34:11] it seems so cheesy
[00:34:12] and forced
[00:34:13] to claim my house
[00:34:14] is haunted
[00:34:14] because it's so convenient
[00:34:16] after my three loud bang story
[00:34:18] in the old house
[00:34:19] keeping up some storyline
[00:34:20] for entertainment purposes
[00:34:22] but I've definitely
[00:34:23] heard some things
[00:34:24] in this new house
[00:34:25] just not much
[00:34:27] of a plot line
[00:34:27] to turn it into a story.
[00:34:29] Like yeah
[00:34:30] a few nights ago
[00:34:31] I heard a loud sneeze
[00:34:32] from the next room
[00:34:33] but I was home alone.
[00:34:35] Oh wow.
[00:34:36] Not home alone
[00:34:37] to lost in New York.
[00:34:39] Yeah.
[00:34:40] Sorry
[00:34:41] but that was just
[00:34:41] a frogger living
[00:34:42] between your walls.
[00:34:44] Shit.
[00:34:44] Well
[00:34:45] well that answers that.
[00:34:47] No don't get me wrong
[00:34:49] you are loved
[00:34:50] and you are heard
[00:34:52] but you've also
[00:34:53] been debunked.
[00:34:55] Yeah I didn't follow
[00:34:56] proto I get it.
[00:34:57] At least you can still
[00:34:58] be on good terms
[00:34:59] with your realtor
[00:35:00] since you guys
[00:35:00] are neighbors.
[00:35:02] True.
[00:35:02] Yes.
[00:35:03] I can't exactly
[00:35:04] ask for a refund either
[00:35:05] if the house
[00:35:05] were haunted.
[00:35:07] I don't know
[00:35:07] how these
[00:35:08] home buyers
[00:35:09] are proving
[00:35:10] that a house
[00:35:10] is haunted
[00:35:11] are not though.
[00:35:12] I think it sounds
[00:35:13] like a job
[00:35:13] for a couple
[00:35:14] of podcast hosts.
[00:35:16] Oh yeah
[00:35:16] could be a good
[00:35:17] TV show idea.
[00:35:18] That too
[00:35:19] that too
[00:35:19] that actually
[00:35:20] makes me think
[00:35:21] of Sue Stanford
[00:35:22] the ghost realtor.
[00:35:24] What
[00:35:24] who is that?
[00:35:25] She was on
[00:35:26] an episode
[00:35:27] of Nathan
[00:35:27] for you.
[00:35:28] Okay.
[00:35:29] One of the only
[00:35:30] times his expert
[00:35:31] business advice
[00:35:32] turned out
[00:35:32] for the better
[00:35:33] because she's
[00:35:33] still running
[00:35:34] with it
[00:35:34] and doing well
[00:35:35] from what I can tell.
[00:35:35] Such a good episode.
[00:35:37] He also makes
[00:35:38] a mechanic
[00:35:38] take a polygraph
[00:35:39] to ensure
[00:35:40] that he's not
[00:35:41] like upcharging
[00:35:42] his customers.
[00:35:42] I love that show.
[00:35:44] Definitely the top
[00:35:44] three for me.
[00:35:45] Yeah that was one
[00:35:46] of the few
[00:35:46] that I actually
[00:35:47] watched the few
[00:35:48] episodes.
[00:35:48] But yeah I gotta
[00:35:49] watch that one again.
[00:35:51] Yeah there's like a
[00:35:52] 10 minute synopsis
[00:35:53] on YouTube.
[00:35:54] Just look up
[00:35:54] Nathan Ghost
[00:35:55] Reelder.
[00:35:56] Link in the show notes.
[00:35:58] If I remember to.
[00:36:00] Yeah.
[00:36:01] Well getting back
[00:36:01] to the story.
[00:36:02] Strange and paranormal
[00:36:03] events are somewhat
[00:36:04] common with facilities
[00:36:06] that help people
[00:36:07] during the end of life
[00:36:08] stages.
[00:36:10] I'd never heard
[00:36:11] about the window
[00:36:12] thing though.
[00:36:13] Maybe walking
[00:36:14] through walls
[00:36:15] is something that
[00:36:16] spirits have to learn
[00:36:17] to do over time.
[00:36:19] Oh yeah I wonder
[00:36:20] if like after death
[00:36:22] we have to learn
[00:36:23] how to be a proper
[00:36:24] ghost.
[00:36:24] Kind of like a toddler
[00:36:25] learning to walk
[00:36:26] or talk.
[00:36:27] Yeah yeah I can see
[00:36:28] that.
[00:36:29] I just hope we don't
[00:36:29] have to wear ghost
[00:36:30] diapers.
[00:36:31] Oh man potty
[00:36:32] training in the
[00:36:33] spirit world
[00:36:33] sounds awful.
[00:36:35] No no thank you.
[00:36:37] As much as I love
[00:36:38] food and sleep
[00:36:38] I wish they were
[00:36:40] both completely
[00:36:40] voluntary activities.
[00:36:42] This is way off
[00:36:42] topic but this is
[00:36:44] important to me.
[00:36:45] If I could never
[00:36:46] feel hungry again
[00:36:47] and not need
[00:36:48] food to survive
[00:36:49] I think I'd opt
[00:36:50] in.
[00:36:51] As long as there
[00:36:52] aren't any weird
[00:36:52] cravings I'd be
[00:36:53] fully content as
[00:36:55] some sort of
[00:36:56] culinary asexual.
[00:36:58] Yeah yeah that's
[00:36:59] a tough call though.
[00:37:00] Food is one of my
[00:37:00] few pleasures that I
[00:37:01] like to indulge in
[00:37:02] but it would be so
[00:37:04] convenient to not
[00:37:05] have to take time out
[00:37:06] of your day to
[00:37:07] refuel so many times
[00:37:09] over and over again
[00:37:10] every single day.
[00:37:11] It gets so old and I
[00:37:12] get so tired of eating
[00:37:13] all the same things
[00:37:14] you know.
[00:37:15] Yeah no it becomes a
[00:37:16] chore and a task and
[00:37:17] I don't like those.
[00:37:19] But yeah it's like the
[00:37:20] perfect analogy.
[00:37:21] We'd be electric
[00:37:22] vehicles that never
[00:37:24] need to be recharged.
[00:37:25] Yeah.
[00:37:25] Add in the whole sleep
[00:37:27] is biologically optional
[00:37:28] thing and we could
[00:37:29] nearly double our
[00:37:31] perceived lifespan.
[00:37:32] And hey what more
[00:37:34] precious of a resource
[00:37:34] than time.
[00:37:36] Yeah time.
[00:37:37] Something we're going to
[00:37:37] get into.
[00:37:38] That's a good sell.
[00:37:39] Thank you.
[00:37:41] Yeah okay fine.
[00:37:42] Hard maybe for me as
[00:37:44] long as the option to
[00:37:46] eat and sleep is there
[00:37:47] and not totally
[00:37:48] removed.
[00:37:49] That's less fun but
[00:37:50] I'll accept it.
[00:37:52] So speaking of time
[00:37:54] Jack Spratt's
[00:37:55] Washington story
[00:37:56] reminded me of
[00:37:57] 12 Monkeys.
[00:37:58] Oh yeah me too.
[00:37:59] Yeah and it's a topic
[00:38:00] that's been covered in a
[00:38:01] lot of media over the
[00:38:02] years and real life
[00:38:04] accounts.
[00:38:05] It actually reminded me
[00:38:06] of this Hugh Jackman
[00:38:07] movie The Fountain.
[00:38:08] It's very very good.
[00:38:09] I love that.
[00:38:10] I think that was this
[00:38:11] I can't pronounce his
[00:38:12] name off the top of my
[00:38:12] head but I think it was
[00:38:13] the same director as
[00:38:14] Requiem for a Dream
[00:38:15] in Pi.
[00:38:16] Yeah it is.
[00:38:17] Yeah Aronofsky.
[00:38:18] Yeah that's right.
[00:38:19] That's right.
[00:38:19] Really good movie.
[00:38:20] A lot of people
[00:38:21] kind of have mixed
[00:38:22] opinions on it but
[00:38:23] I loved it.
[00:38:25] Yeah I did too.
[00:38:26] Yeah time travel and
[00:38:27] time slips are so
[00:38:28] interesting and I think
[00:38:29] it's extremely plausible.
[00:38:31] Yeah especially if you
[00:38:32] consider Einstein's
[00:38:32] ideas like you know
[00:38:34] how time is more
[00:38:35] what's the word
[00:38:36] dynamic rather than
[00:38:38] fixed but yeah I
[00:38:39] don't know it all gets
[00:38:40] really confusing at some
[00:38:41] point.
[00:38:42] Yeah if you investigate
[00:38:44] too deeply on the
[00:38:45] topic you'll get a
[00:38:45] headache for sure but
[00:38:46] I think time is
[00:38:47] definitely relative.
[00:38:48] You know I had this
[00:38:49] younger listener
[00:38:50] probably eight or
[00:38:51] nine.
[00:38:51] I hope I'm aging him
[00:38:53] correctly but he came to
[00:38:54] my show in Sacramento
[00:38:55] with his dad and he
[00:38:57] brought me this drawing
[00:38:58] that he did of the
[00:38:59] Let's Not Meet podcast
[00:39:00] artwork.
[00:39:01] Really cool kid.
[00:39:02] I asked him how long he
[00:39:03] had been listening to the
[00:39:04] podcast and he told me
[00:39:06] forever.
[00:39:07] And I asked him like
[00:39:08] how long?
[00:39:10] And he said like six
[00:39:11] months.
[00:39:12] You know or something
[00:39:13] close to that.
[00:39:14] And I was like yeah
[00:39:14] that's forever for him.
[00:39:16] Yeah for him that is
[00:39:17] forever and for us six
[00:39:19] months is nothing.
[00:39:20] Time makes no sense.
[00:39:21] I think a lot of it has
[00:39:23] to deal with like when
[00:39:24] we're children we view
[00:39:25] the world as more of a
[00:39:26] sense of wonder and
[00:39:28] mystery to you know
[00:39:30] what I mean.
[00:39:30] And we don't have any
[00:39:31] sort of like chores and
[00:39:33] responsibilities and
[00:39:34] adult anxieties to
[00:39:35] concern ourselves with
[00:39:36] so we can just
[00:39:37] essentially view the
[00:39:38] world as a sandbox to
[00:39:40] explore and time isn't
[00:39:42] like a creeping thing
[00:39:43] for us.
[00:39:43] I say us like in the
[00:39:45] present tense like we're
[00:39:46] children but I know
[00:39:48] yeah I think it's
[00:39:49] because we have the
[00:39:49] the excited anticipation
[00:39:51] of becoming an adult
[00:39:52] then yeah no I'm done
[00:39:54] with this but I agree.
[00:39:57] No no no I get it I
[00:39:58] get it.
[00:39:59] I'm so worn out.
[00:40:00] Time slips like the
[00:40:02] one in Jack's story.
[00:40:03] They've been documented
[00:40:04] for years.
[00:40:05] I hope that we get
[00:40:06] more of these stories
[00:40:07] and I want to hear
[00:40:08] more about the
[00:40:09] phenomena.
[00:40:10] Yes absolutely.
[00:40:11] Good stuff.
[00:40:12] Yeah good stories this
[00:40:13] week.
[00:40:13] Anyways thank you
[00:40:14] everybody for sharing
